Finding breast cancer early gives a better prognosis. It is a healthy practice to regularly examine the breasts. Following facts are important.

  • Report changes to us or your GP without any delay

Signs and Symptoms of Breast Cancer

  • Breast lump – most cancer lumps are painless and hard to feel
  • Swelling of all or a part of the breast even if there is no lump to feel
  • Change in breast size or shape
  • Pulling in of nipple or skin indentation (nipple inversion or skin retraction)
  • Spontaneous clear or blood stained nipple discharge
  • Swelling in the armpit (lymph node)
  • Ulceration of skin or eczema like changes around nipple
  • Redness and/or thickening of breast skin
